Rome, Italy Sketchbook 2012

FINALLY!  After much procrastination, I finally scanned my sketchbook from my Italy trip last year.  About time, right? Can I get an Amen?

Then again, if I hadn't been so lazy and actually scanned it at school before I graduated from Otis, I would've been able to post this a lot sooner (a whole year sooner!  Ha ha ha). But, alas, I had to wait until I could afford to buy my own scanner before being able to finally share this incredible journey.

Now, this sketchbook is a lot different than the one I completed for the France trip. In Italy, I was not required to complete a sketchbook (like I was in France) so there was no time organized for my class to simply sit down and draw. This entire book was completed by my own time, outside of the actual trips that our professors took us on. Before and after school time (meaning very early in the morning or late at night), I went out on my own to draw. Scary, right? But I was told that Rome had a very low crime rate so I took a risk. I filled out a lot of pages in the kitchen of our town house too (we stayed in a town house! Jealous?). I was sleep-deprived a lot. Not sure why. A lot of the pages were also filled with journal entries. What else could you do when you're just hanging out on cold night in front of the Pantheon? When you're staring at beautiful sculptures and amazing, historical sites for hours on end, you tend to think a lot. Gotta jot those down so you can remember how much of a dorky tourist you were at the time. No regrets, of course. Call me a dorky tourist any time.

Also, on a side note: because of my super dooper awesome scanner, more works are going to be shared from now on. Hurray for modern technology!  =D
