It has been an insanely CRAZY semester! And thank goodness it's almost over. I have one last week to go, but at least the big stuff is finally out of the way, which were the Bolsky Opening and the Senior Review.
See, here's how this semester was supposed to turn out: now that I'm a senior, I am supposed to be in a group show with rest of the studio-mates and this group show will be graded. There were many ups and downs-- mostly downs, and somewhere along the road, pigs must have started flying because we actually pulled it off! And this is mainly thanks to my studio-mates who were willing to stay awake the entire weekend before the opening to ensure that everything was absolutely done.
Thanks, thanks, THANKS! to all of my studio-mates for pulling off what the head of the Fine Arts Department said to be the BEST and HANDSOMEST show of this semester. The show will be up until December 17, 2011. Here are some info about it:

Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me during the Opening Reception, so these photos were shot with my phone only. Still, memories.... :)
Additionally, the Senior Reviews started only a few days after the reception so everyone has been really busy. The Senior Review is when we have our work presented and reviewed by a panel of faculty members and some visiting artists (usually 4-5 people in total). I think this is just so that the school knows that we're actually doing something with ourselves, and that we're not just making crappy, slacker art. My review was not as painful as I'd thought it would be. I was really nervous about it, but most of my panel had good things to say about my stuff. There were a few suggestions on how I can grow from my current concentration, but all in all, no negative comments. I'm not sure if it matters but my panel reviewers were Carole Caroompas (who is also my studio mentor), Dana Duff (another studio mentor for the school), Steve Bankhead (another faculty member), and Aram Moshayedi (a visiting curator). There was also a surprise reviewer named Steve (for the life of me, I cannot remember his last name), and he was an absolute delight. Optimistic, talkative, and the life of the party. I hope I get to meet him again someday.
AND!!!! Because Holly Wilder, from the fine arts office, liked my painting in the Bolsky Gallery so much, she had asked if she could photograph my review! EEEEEEPPPPP!!!!!! Honestly, I have never felt so complimented until that day. So she photographed us as we discussed my work, and, of course, some of it were posed so some of the photos looked really awkward. I think she wanted to use it on the catalogue that the school sends out to new students. She was also nice enough to send me the photos, and I didn't know that she also went into my studio to photograph my paintings until she sent them to me. Here they are:
See me looking at my painting in deep contemplation? I'm just acting!
Also, (Gawd this post is super long!), since I haven't really been uploading any proper photos of my most recent work, I thought I'd do it now. So here are a gah-butt-load of photos (that are not in order) of what I've been doing for the past few months (I promise I'll end it here :P):
